How to play roulette

Roulette table is one of the most exciting games to play on online casino and easy to learn.
There are two main types of Roulette tables: American and European with the difference
being American roulette has one extra number. It has an additional so called “double zero”
and thirty eight numbers in total. Odds on the American Roulette are slightly worse than the
European Roulette. That’s why it is always preferred to play on European Roulette with
“single zero” and total 37 numbers including the zero. The point of the game is simply to
predict the number that will come in the next spin. If you place a chip straight up on a single
number and this number wins in the next spin then you are paid 36 times your money if you
bet Euro 10 on the winning number you will get Euro 360 back if you bet Euro 50 you will be
paid eighteen hundred Euro but it is quite hard to predict the exact number where the ball will
land the solution to this is to wager more than one number with just one chip. When you bet
many numbers your probability to win increases but your payout diminishes accordingly. The
beauty of online roulette is that the player can choose from a multitude of wagers with
different odds and payouts. Looking at the roulette table layout one can see how various
multinumber bets can be placed on the roulette table.

Roulette outside Bets:
There are six outside bets that can be placed outside of the grid of the 36 numbers. Each of
these bets includes 18 numbers and has roughly a 50:50 chance of winning. These are:

  • the red numbers the black numbers,
  • the odd numbers the even numbers,
  • the low numbers from 1 to 18 the high numbers from 19 to 36.
Winning bets on the above pay double the money. Let’s say you bet Euro 20 on Red and the
winning number is 30 Red, you get your Euro 20 back plus an additional Euro 20.
    Then there are “dozens”:
  • First dozen numbers 1 to 12,
  • Second dozen numbers 13 to 24,
  • Third dozen numbers 25 to 36,
  • And the three column bets on the bottom of the table which also include 12 numbers.
Each these bets pay you 3 times your money on a win for example let’s say you place Euro
10 on the first dozen and the ball lands on number 11, you get paid your Euro 10 back plus
and additional Euro 20. When 0 comes all outside bets lose unless a straight up 0 bet or a 0
bet split with numbers 1, 2 or 3 has been placed.

Roulette Inside Bets:
Inside bets cover less numbers than the outside bets and have better payouts.
You can bet 6 numbers by placing your chip at the corner of numbers 16,19 on the second
dozen box called a line or double street bet. If any of these six numbers win you get back six
times your money
You can bet four numbers with a corner bet covering numbers 16,17,20,19. If any of these
four numbers win you get back nine times your initial investment.

You can bet on three numbers on a street which pays back 12 times your initial amount on a
win for example if you risk Euro 10 you get paid Euro 120.
You can bet on only two numbers called the split. In this case you are paid eighteen times
your money.
You can bet on only one number “straight up”. Here the winnings are 36 times your bet.

In European roulette tables you can further choose regional wheel-based bets:

  • “Voisin to zero” which covers 17 numbers and requires nine chips,
  • “Orphelins” (Orphans) which covers eight numbers and requires five chips,
  • “Tiers” which covers 12 numbers and requires six chips.

The house edge for European roulette is 2.7% whilst American roulette
